Tony Threatt holding two offers

Tony Threatt recently received a scholarship offer from the University of South Alabama; he tells JagsJungle the latest news in recruiting.
“I received an offer from USA last week,”
Tony Threatt
told us from his home in Leeds (Ala).
“I liked Coach Jones a lot and I like South Alabama. He (Coach Joey Jones) told me I had a full ride down there, which is very good. I am going to visit their campus this summer- they were telling me about how everything was first class down there,” Threatt stated.
“I think it would be pretty cool to be a part of their first ever recruiting class down there. I would like to leave my mark on the team for future players if I were to go there.”
Tony tells us how the Jags recognized his talent.
“They were at my school talking to Coach Etheredge about
Travis Grandy
and Coach Etheredge gave them a DVD of me. The next week they called my school and offered me a scholarship,” Threatt recalled.
Tony Threatt also reported USA has offered 2008 Leeds graduate, Travis Grundy, a scholarship.
“South Alabama offered Travis but he isn’t sure what he’s going to do, yet.”
Tony Threatt received another offer from the Black Knights the same week South Alabama offered and he is happy to be holding two offers.
“Army offered me the same week they offered
Randon Carnathan
,” he recalled. “Their recruiter came by our school to talk to a small group of players about their academics and our service after our education and football. When he finished talking to us he pulled Randon and me to the side and offered us both a full scholarship.”
Tony Threatt isn’t finished with his recruitment just yet. He has several other schools interested in his talent as a 6-4, 190 pound safety/wide receiver prospect.
“I am still hearing from Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, Tennessee, Middle Tennessee, Citadel, Army, South Alabama and La. Tech.”
“La. Tech has been to see me twice at school and they have asked me for all kinds of information. I think they might be close to offering me,” Threatt explained. “I also went to the Nike Combine at Alabama last weekend and I enjoyed it a lot. I also learned a lot of things I need to work on before season starts,” Threatt concluded.
