Prattville’s Josh Stinson is a 6-3, 215-pound defensive end/ line backer, and he is hearing from several schools around the south. Recently one of those schools offered Stinson a scholarship to take his play to the next level. Josh Stinson tells JagsJungle.com the latest developments in this interview.
Prattville’s
Josh Stinson
played a key role in the Lions state title run, and college coaches around the area have taken notice.
“I have talked to Coach [Bill] Clark and Coach [John] Turner from
South Alabama
. They offered me a scholarship last week. They told me they wanted me to come down there and play linebacker or defensive end for them. It is good to get that first offer,” said Stinson.
South Alabama isn’t the only team interested in Stinson’s services.
“I am also hearing from
Troy
. I talked to their linebacker coach, [Benjy] Parker. They want me to come to Troy for a camp this summer. They seem to be very interested in me.”
“
Southern Miss
is another school that is showing me a lot of interest. I attended their junior day and I got to speak to Coach Kap [Chris Kapilovic], And Coach [Art] Kaufman while I was there. I believe Southern Miss is also a school that might offer a scholarship in the future,” Stinson noted.
“I have been invited to
Mississippi State
April 18th for their junior day. I have not talked to any of the coaches over there, they just sent me a letter inviting me to junior day and they said they looked forward to seeing me there.”
“I also went to
Auburn
’s junior day, which was a lot of fun. I am waiting to hear from them.”
“I am wide open,” Stinson said in closing.
Josh Stinson plans to attend the Scout.com elite combine later this month in Atlanta.
