Randon Carnathan recently took an unofficial visit to South Alabama to check out the campus, and the upstart football program. He tells Jagsjungle.com the latest news.
“I recently visited South Alabama, and I loved it,” Randon Carnathan said, from his home in Leeds (Ala.).
“The campus was great, everything about it was lovely. We toured the campus, and saw where we would be staying. They showed us where the new facilities would be, and I liked the location. Of all the places I have visited, South Alabama is the nicest place I’ve been,” Carnathan exclaimed.
“I am also very impressed with the coaching staff they have. I talked to Coach [Bill] Clark, Coach [Joey] Jones, and some of the other coaches while I was there. I was really impressed with them.”
“We also looked at academics, and they have big engineering school, which I liked. I like the education I could receive at South Alabama,” Carnathan said.
Randon has never had any qualms reporting Southern Miss as his leader. They have been ahead of the pack for quite sometime. Did the trip to South Alabama change that?
“Yes sir, the trip to South Alabama really gave me something to think about. I am going to take all my official visits before I commit to anyone,” he said.
“Someone told me to not get in a hurry with recruiting. They said to take my time and make sure I chose the right place for me. They were right. You never know what’s out there until you see it for yourself.”
Which schools will receive an official visit?
“I am going to South Alabama, Southern Miss., Arkansas State, Middle Tennessee, and Army. I don’t know what order I will be taking my visits, but I plan to start in September,” Carnathan stated.
