Dan Mullen anticipated a busy December. But just how full his early weeks on the Mississippi State job would be, was made clear to all Monday morning as he met with media. Lawson McGlon, a three year kicker for the 2007 Georgia AA State Champion Buford Wolves has committed to play for the University of South Alabama football program in Mobile, AL. McGlon committed to Coach Joey Jones in July. “I spoke with coach Jones in July. I told him I would enroll in January and be ready to compete at spring practice.”   Full Story

In recruiting, there are unknowns, sleepers and players who are “under the radar,” but none of these are strong enough to describe Romelle Jones. Entering his senior year of high school, Jones has only played one season of organized football and that was several years ago in middle school . Most USA fans are already familiar with the names that have leaked out so far for the coaching search. Jeff Bower, Chris Scelfo, Woody McCorvey, and Dabo Swinney have all spoken on some level to AD Joe Gottfried. Whether any of these turn into full-scale interviews remains to be seen, but we do know that the list has grown longer by three.   Full Story
