Carnathan collected 119 tackles, 30 for a loss, and 18.5 sacks, caused four fumbles and recovered two, and an interception. He rushed for 793 yards on 88 carries scoring 13 touchdowns during his team's undefeated championship season. The senior was honored as part of the ASWA Super 12, ASWA 3A All-State DL and Linemen of the Year 3A, Birmingham News First Team All-State (all classes), Orlando Sentinel All-Southern Team (AL).
Carnathan was Birmingham News All-Metro Defensive Player of the Year (all class).
The 2007 junior plays defensive end, fullback and tight end racked up 109 tackles, 6.5 sacks, four tackles for a loss, four caused fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. Carnathan also blocked three kicks.
Offensively he had 285 yards rushing on 36 carries with four touchdowns.
Coach Etheredge: "Hard worker, very strong. Very good student. Plays great down the line. We played nobody that could block him." |
